Bellevue Hill intersection plan held over for school development check
A 6-0 vote has pushed Woollahra Council’s investigation of Cranbrook Road and Victoria Road improvements to 27 July, with late correspondence to examine whether higher student numbers triggered a development application.
Bellevue Hill residents will wait until 27 July for Woollahra Council to consider possible improvements at the Cranbrook Road and Victoria Road intersection, after the Finance, Community & Services Committee voted 6-0 to defer the investigation.
Staff will table late correspondence at the full Council meeting to determine whether increased student numbers at the school have triggered a development application. The committee did not decide whether intersection changes should proceed.
The matter was considered through the Woollahra Local Transport Forum recommendations. The committee also resolved to change shared-path signs and markings on Wallis Street, Woollahra, to bring the facility into line with Australian Standards, Austroads guides and the Transport for NSW Design Toolbox.
An additional Shared Path sign will be installed east of Ocean Street. Existing “Bicycle Lane Continues Along Footpath” signs near No. 98 Wallis Street and west of Woods Avenue will be replaced with Shared Path signs. Shared Path End signs, logos and line marking will also be installed.
The committee rejected a proposed 3.2-metre “Motor Bike Only” parking restriction on the western side of Edgecliff Road near No. 420, Woollahra. The existing parking arrangement at that location will remain.
Near No. 112 Jersey Road, Paddington, the existing “2P 8am-11pm Permit Holders Excepted” restriction will be extended to replace a redundant mobility-parking space. The committee also approved the removal of a redundant mobility-parking space by reinstating unrestricted parking near No. 14 Cambridge Avenue, Vaucluse.
The committee recommended that the draft concept design for the Cecil Street, Paddington, to Trumper Park Flood Mitigation Project be publicly exhibited for 28 days. A further report will follow the exhibition and assessment of submissions.
It also recommended endorsement of the Guideline for Construction Traffic Management Plan (2026). If endorsed, Council’s standard construction-traffic condition will be updated to list the information required under the guideline.
Full Council is due to consider the Cranbrook Road matter on 27 July 2026. No construction date, project cost or final intersection design was specified.
