Bateau Bay path, Tuggerah Lake plan among Central Coast matters pushed to July
Central Coast Council deferred decisions on shared-path access, coastal management, playgrounds and council policies until its 28 July meeting.
Residents and businesses waiting on decisions about a Bateau Bay shared path, Tuggerah Lake entrance management and council policies will have to wait until 28 July, after Central Coast Council deferred the matters at its 29 June meeting.
The delayed items include the audio-visual attendance notice of motion, standing-committee delegations, the Draft Playspace Strategy, the Risk Management Policy and Internal Audit Charter, Hawkesbury Nepean River Management, the Flag and Street Banner Policy, and Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee minutes.
Five notices of motion were also deferred. They cover shared-path access from Anne Findlay Place in Bateau Bay to the Bateau Bay Square shopping and services precinct, council use of rodenticides, infrastructure and housing, community engagement in major coastal decisions, and entrance management of Tuggerah Lake.
The Bateau Bay proposal concerns access between Anne Findlay Place and local shopping and services. The Tuggerah Lake motion adds to a separate budget decision to defer the 2026 - 27 Tuggerah Lakes Dredging Program allocation.
That funding was redirected to establish The Entrance Town Centre Reactivation Taskforce. Council may engage Renew Australia or another qualified place-activation organisation to support the taskforce.
Council also adopted its 2026 - 27 planning and financial documents, including the Delivery Program 2025 - 2029, Operational Plan 2026 - 27, Fees and Charges 2026 - 27 and Long Term Financial Plan 2026 - 2036. The package includes a $50,000 minimum efficiency target for the community halls directorate.
Other decisions included placing the draft Central Coast Natural Disaster Resilience Strategy on public exhibition for at least 42 days. Council also released three concept options for a proposed fenced off-leash area at The Haven, Terrigal, for at least 28 days of community consultation. The Terrigal proposal does not commit Council to construction or funding.
The deferred policies, reports and notices of motion are scheduled for consideration at Central Coast Council’s Ordinary Council Meeting on 28 July 2026. Until then, no decision has been made on the Bateau Bay shared path, the five notices of motion or the other listed policy matters.
