Five community, sporting, charity and veteran-family events will receive $7,948 in fee waivers and a donation approved by Randwick City Council, including a $5,466 concession for Surfing NSW’s OOO Emergency Services Storm Challenge at Coogee Beach.

The waiver covers beach hire, lifeguards and a jet ski for the event on 24 and 25 September 2026. Council also waived $1,476 for lifeguard water safety at a Junior Surfing Event held on 28 March 2026.

Maroubra Saints received a $348.50 waiver for its Volunteer Recognition and Community Day at Pioneer Park, held on 31 May.

A $500 donation will go to Maa Care Bangladesh’s Charity Breakfast and Breast Cancer Awareness and Research event on 9 August 2026.

The remaining $157.50 waiver covers hire of Randwick Environmental Park for an inaugural Randwick LGA Veteran Family Day on 28 November 2026.

Together, the five approved concessions cover beach services, water safety, venue hire and event support. The assistance includes two events that have already taken place and three scheduled for later in 2026.

The Surfing NSW event has the largest waiver, covering services needed for the two-day challenge at Coogee Beach. The Junior Surfing Event waiver covers lifeguard water safety, while the Maroubra Saints concession relates to a volunteer recognition and community day.

The donation to Maa Care Bangladesh supports a breakfast focused on breast cancer awareness and research. The final waiver removes the council hire charge for the veteran-family gathering at Randwick Environmental Park.

Council approved the assistance under a Mayoral Minute put forward by Mayor D Parker on 28 July 2026. The resolution was carried.
