Decisions
Walking and cycling projects moved to detailed design
Council endorsed the Kingsford to Centennial Park Section 3, Todman Avenue and Anzac Parade walking and cycling projects to proceed to detailed design, subject to technical, safety and community-consultation considerations. Additional investigation was required for the Storey Street and Anzac Parade crossing, the shared path between Storey and Haig streets, pedestrian safety, traffic impacts and ways to reduce tree loss on Anzac Parade.
Residents may see further design work and future construction planning for walking, cycling and pedestrian-safety changes in these corridors.
Tree removal approved with replacement and offset planting
Council approved removal of a Council-owned Hill’s Weeping fig at 2B Centennial Avenue, Randwick, replacement planting with a super-advanced Weeping Lilly Pilly, and an additional mature Hill’s Weeping fig planting within Heffron Park.
The decision changes tree cover at the site while requiring replacement and offset planting.
