Wanneroo committee backs 2026-27 CEO KPIs and recommends they be published
The City of Wanneroo's Chief Executive Officer Performance Review Committee also received the CEO's quarter 3 corporate performance report for presentation to the May Ordinary Council Meeting.
A City of Wanneroo committee has endorsed the proposed 2026-27 key performance indicators for the chief executive officer and recommended that all of those measures be published.
The decision was made at the Chief Executive Officer Performance Review Committee meeting on 4 May. Minutes show the KPI item was considered in confidential session under section 5.23(4)(b) of the Local Government Act 1995, on the basis it related to the personal affairs of an individual. After the meeting reopened, the carried resolutions were read aloud in open session.
The amended motion, carried unanimously, backed the proposed CEO key performance indicators in Attachment 3 for Council approval and added a recommendation that all of the KPIs be published. The same meeting also unanimously received the Chief Executive Officer Quarter 3 Corporate Report and Key Performance Indicator Update for presentation to Council at the May 2026 Ordinary Council Meeting.
For residents, the immediate effect is that Council will next be asked to consider both the proposed CEO performance measures for 2026-27 and the committee's recommendation that those measures be made public. If Council agrees, that would give the public visibility of the indicators used to assess the CEO's performance.
The quarter 3 report received by the committee covered performance information current to 31 March 2026. In the report summary included in the minutes, the City said 96.8 per cent of council plan initiatives, 91 of 94, were on target, being monitored or completed by the end of quarter 3. It also reported $96.6 million in capital works had been delivered by the end of March, representing 73.5 per cent of the revised annual capital works program.
The committee meeting was held in the Council Chamber at the Civic Centre in Wanneroo. The next Chief Executive Officer Performance Review Committee meeting is scheduled for 3 August 2026.
