Vincent carries forward nearly $94,000 for water and energy upgrades
Vincent has carried $93,953 into FY2026/27 after a proposed Beatty Park project did not proceed, following about $55,000 in LED upgrades at its library and two underground car parks.
The City of Vincent has carried $93,953 into FY2026/27 for water and energy-efficiency projects after a proposed Beatty Park Leisure Centre project did not proceed. The retained funding includes a possible upgrade to the centre’s hot-water system using heat-pump technology.
Vincent spent about $55,000 during FY2025/26 on LED lighting at three sites: the City of Vincent Library, the Loftus Recreation Centre/Library Underground Car Park and the Administration Centre Underground Car Park.
The library upgrade cost $42,428.88 excluding GST. The Loftus car park work cost $5,050.64, while the Administration Centre car park upgrade cost $7,596.29.
The budget was intended to support the City’s contribution to a proposed Australian Government Community Energy Upgrades Fund project at Beatty Park. As the project did not proceed during FY2025/26, the full allocation was not required for it. Delivery of other initiatives was affected by available internal resources.
Other projects under consideration include more LED upgrades at high-energy facilities, water monitoring and sub-metering, building-management-system and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning efficiency improvements, and water-wise fittings through renewal projects.
City Buildings will assess and prioritise the options during FY2026/27. The retained funding is intended to support ongoing reductions in energy and water consumption across the City’s building portfolio.
The completed lighting projects are intended to reduce electricity use and maintenance requirements and improve lighting performance. Vincent has previously completed water-efficiency work at Beatty Park, including showerhead and water-wise fixture replacements.
