Beverly Hills residents get at least 28 days to comment on draft master plan

Beverly Hills residents, landowners and businesses will have at least 28 days to comment on the Draft Beverly Hills Master Plan after Georges River Council’s Environment and Planning Committee endorsed it for public exhibition in a 12-1 vote.

The plan and associated studies will be exhibited before council receives a further report outlining submissions and recommending any amendments. Cr Ben Wang was the only councillor recorded against the exhibition motion.

The committee authorised the Director Environment and Planning to make minor editorial amendments before the exhibition begins. The exact exhibition dates have not been stated.

The exhibition is the next formal consultation stage for planning and development controls in Beverly Hills. Residents, property owners and businesses will be able to make submissions before council considers changes to the draft plan.

The committee also voted 9-5 to submit Georges River Council’s position on the Beverly Hills Town Centre (West) State-Assessed Rezoning Proposal to the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.

Cr Elaina Anzellotti, Cr Thomas Gao, Cr Gerard Hayes, Cr Leon Pun and Cr Ben Wang were recorded against that submission.

The committee received a report on potential impacts of Housing Delivery Authority proposals and subsequent State Significant Developments on the Georges River local government area.

Consideration of the Mortdale Centre Planning Proposal response and future strategic direction was deferred to the 24 August 2026 Ordinary Council Meeting. The committee also noted the Development and Building Team Functions and Services Metrics Report for April to June 2026, with no specific service changes stated.

The Draft Beverly Hills Master Plan and associated studies must be exhibited for a minimum of 28 days. After the exhibition, council is to receive a report on the submissions and any recommended amendments.
