12 Central Coast groups share $40,429 in community grants
Council funding will cover sporting equipment, community events, rates subsidies, facility costs and local participation programs.
Twelve Central Coast organisations will share $40,429.40 in June community grants, including funding for a Woy Woy rugby participation program, a Killarney Vale football club fridge and rates subsidies for groups in The Bays and Wyongah.
Central Coast Council approved the allocations from its 2026-27 grants budget at its ordinary meeting held across 25 and 31 August. The three largest grants, each worth $5,000, went to The Coastal Physical Culture Club for a rooms subsidy, Lions Club of Charmhaven for hall hire and Central Coast Junior Motorcycle Club for ground-maintenance equipment.
Woy Woy Rugby Club received $2,300 for its Peninsula Rugby Participation and Community Inclusion Program. Killarney Vale Australian Football Club was allocated $4,500 for a canteen drinks fridge, while Copacabana Community Association received $3,500 for community Christmas carols.
The Bays Community Group received $3,168.40 for a rates subsidy and Wyongah Progress Association received $1,379 for the same purpose.
Other approved grants included $4,988.60 for the Australian Cadet Corps to support safe access and facilities at the Tuggerah Lakes Cadet Unit, and $2,524 for Central Coast Kids in Need to support the Adam Molch Hilier Memorial Surf Classic.
Career Links received $2,000 for the Future Choices Expo Central Coast. Central Coast Family History Society received $1,069.40 for premises running and maintenance costs, including a rates subsidy. A $3,500 grant was also approved for Copacabana Community Association’s Christmas carols.
Council declined six applications. They were from Central Coast Steiner School, Wallarah Point Physical Culture Club, Kamira Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Services, Melissa Jane Munro, Green Point Terrigal Community Services and Tuggerah Lakes Christian Education Board. The reasons listed were ineligible projects or applicants, or insufficient information.
The approved funding supports sporting participation, equipment, events, facilities, education and rates assistance across Woy Woy, Killarney Vale, Copacabana, Wyongah and other Central Coast communities.
