  The final signage and line-marking plan for new No Parking restrictions on Mary Street and Edith Street, St Peters, associated with the Precinct 75 redevelopment (SSD82639959), was approved. The applicant must pay installation costs under Council’s Fees and Charges, notify affected residents before installation, and reinstate existing signage and line marking after the works. Mary Street restrictions will be reviewed approximately 12 months after implementation.
  Residents may experience changed parking access and temporary construction impacts, with a formal review planned after the restrictions operate.
• Victoria Road pedestrian crossing not supported at present
  A proposed pedestrian crossing between Sydenham Road and Chalder Street, Marrickville, was not supported because pedestrian and vehicle volumes did not meet Council or Transport for NSW warrants. Traffic data and possible treatments will be reviewed, with a further report planned towards the end of 2027, including potential developer contributions.
  No crossing will be installed now, although safety options and traffic conditions are scheduled for later review.
• On-street bicycle parking approved at multiple locations
  Bicycle Parking Only signs and line marking were approved at identified sites including Norton Street, Leichhardt; Darling Street, Balmain; Hastings Street and Enfield Street, Marrickville; and other locations across the LGA. The measure is intended to reduce footpath clutter and formalise shared-bike operator responsibilities.

• Sydney Street Fair road closure approved
  Sydney Street, Marrickville, will be fully closed between Sydenham Road and Marrickville Road from 4:00am Saturday 5 December to 4:00am Sunday 6 December 2026 for the Sydney Street Fair. The approval is subject to a Road Occupancy Licence, Transport for NSW consent and written notification to affected residents, businesses and emergency services.
  Local traffic, parking and access will change during the event and its set-up and pack-down periods.
• New Year’s Eve bus and parking arrangements recommended
  The Forum recommended temporary bus-zone and parking changes around Birchgrove, Balmain and the Darling Street peninsula for New Year’s Eve, including bus zones on Grove Street and Eaton Street. Taxi and hire-car access to the Peninsula will be restricted from 7:00pm. A trial route would allow buses to return via Terry Street and Thornton Street after midnight, requiring two parking spaces on Thornton Street to be cleared temporarily.
  Residents and visitors should expect altered parking, taxi access and public-transport arrangements during New Year’s Eve operations.
• Capital works pathway supported for Robert Street active transport route
  A separated pedestrian and cycle path on the northern side of Robert Street between Mullens Street and Buchanan Street, Rozelle, including kerb extensions and raised crossings, was supported for inclusion in the Capital Works program subject to detailed design and community consultation. Council will continue pursuing a longer-term southern-side path and seek a response from the Port Authority.
  The project could improve walking and cycling safety, but delivery remains subject to design, consultation and funding processes.

• Summer Hill parking study
  The previous meeting decision was amended so that a broader Summer Hill precinct parking study will consider parking usage, surrounding streets, occupancy and permit data, with officers to report by March 2027 on timing and resourcing.
  Residents may see a wider parking review rather than an immediate extension of resident parking controls.
• Alberto Street resident parking scheme paused
  Approval of the proposed restricted parking scheme in Alberto Street, Lilyfield, was paused. A parking study and community consultation covering surrounding streets, including Maida Street and Victoria Street, is to be tabled at the October 2026 Forum. The minutes record opposition from 20 households in Maida and Victoria streets.
  No immediate parking restrictions will be introduced in Alberto Street while broader neighbourhood impacts are assessed.
• Active transport works on Sydney Steel Road
  Short-term maintenance works were supported, including repairing damaged sections of the southern footpath and repainting bicycle logos. A longer-term cycleway is also associated with nearby development and future corridor planning.
  The works aim to improve immediate pedestrian and cyclist safety while longer-term designs are developed.
• Darling Street and Balmain/Birchgrove speed limits
  The Forum discussed a possible 30 km/h limit on Darling Street and a broader Balmain and Birchgrove proposal. Officers advised that Darling Street is a regional road and changes would require Transport for NSW involvement; a blanket area-wide proposal would require separate consideration.
  Speed-limit changes remain under investigation and have not been approved.
• Cargo-bike child passenger safety
  Following a resident concern about children travelling in cargo bicycles without helmets, Council agreed to write to NSW Police on the resident’s behalf.
  The action seeks clarification or enforcement attention regarding child safety on cargo bikes.
• Bus access at Norton and Knox streets
  Transit Systems raised concerns that the pedestrian refuge at the Norton Street and Knox Street intersection, Ashfield, restricts bus access. A possible temporary alternative route for school-bus movements via the Hume Highway, Liverpool Street and Hercules Street was discussed.
  Bus operations and school travel may be affected if an alternative access arrangement is investigated.
