Active transport grant applications approved
Council authorised grant applications for a footpath on Euchareena Road between Betts Street and Molong Showground, and a route on Renshaw McGirr Way between St Columba’s Catholic Primary School and Bournewood Road, Yeoval. Council will provide co-contributions from reserves if successful.
The projects could improve walking and cycling access in Molong and Yeoval, subject to grant success.
Event and community funding approved
Council approved $5,000 for the Eugowra Harness Racing Club’s 2026 Canola Cup, $5,000 for the Molong October Village Market, $25,000 to the Molong Advancement Group for proposed Hunter Caldwell Oval upgrades, $3,000 for the Cumnock steel sculpture project and $11,000 for replacement roofing at the Crossroads building.
Community organisations and local events will receive Council funding for activities, facilities and local place improvements.
Alcohol-free zone suspensions approved for Christmas events
Council authorised suspension of alcohol-free zones covering Gaskill Street, Canowindra and Bank Street, Molong, including adjoining road reserves and footpaths, for the 2026 Christmas shopping events. A request was made to extend the Molong area past Shields Lane to include Edward Street, but the recorded motion specifies Bank Street.
Alcohol restrictions will be temporarily suspended in the specified event areas; residents should expect event-related activity and apply normal public-safety precautions.
Disability Inclusion Action Plan adopted
Council adopted the Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2026–2030 after noting that no formal submissions were received during exhibition and that a late submission was made by Molong Advancement Group.
The plan will guide Council actions to improve accessibility and inclusion across Council services and facilities.
Molong Showground tender awarded
Patto’s Building and Construction Pty Ltd was awarded the CAP24-001 contract for Molong Showground amenities and hockey dugouts for $540,419.78 excluding GST.

Development application refused at 44 Riddell Street, Molong
Development Application 2026/0155 for demolition of former stables at 44 Riddell Street, Molong was refused unanimously by councillors present.
The proposed demolition will not proceed under this application.
Dwelling and ancillary development changes approved in Molong
Development Application 2027/0012 for alterations and additions to an existing dwelling, demolition of existing ancillary development and replacement ancillary development at 59 Gidley Street, Molong was approved subject to conditions.
The residential development can proceed in accordance with Council conditions and the approved policy variation.
Molong water and sewerage review exhibited
Council endorsed the draft interim Molong water supply and sewerage servicing review for public exhibition.
The review will inform infrastructure planning and future development capacity in Molong.
Event grants approved and Molong parking project cancelled
Council approved $9,300 in event sponsorship and cancelled the Molong Silos Parking Bay design project, redirecting available funds to Legal Expenses – Planning.
The decision supports two community events but removes a planned Molong capital works project.
Disaster Ready Fund bid supported for warning system
Council endorsed an application to the Australian Government Disaster Ready Fund Round 4 for a severe weather and flooding warning system for Canowindra, Eugowra and Molong, with a proposed council co-contribution of $289,800 if successful.
