Waverley Council has accepted Ally Infrastructure Pty Ltd as preferred tenderer for the Bronte Pump House upgrade and pump replacement, a $1,703,363 contract excluding GST.
Waverley Council has accepted Ally Infrastructure Pty Ltd as the preferred tenderer for the Bronte Pump House upgrade and pump replacement, with the head contractor contract valued at $1,703,363 excluding GST. The decision was made at the Finance, Operations and Community Services Committee meeting on 5 May 2026 at the Boot Factory in Spring Street, Bondi Junction.
The committee also authorised the General Manager or delegate to enter into the contract and notify unsuccessful tenderers. The tender evaluation was treated as confidential under the Local Government Act 1993 because it contained commercial information that would, if disclosed, prejudice the commercial position of the people who supplied it.
The Bronte contract was one of several items decided at the meeting. Council endorsed joining the NSW Government Veterans Employment Program and the Australian Government Veteran Employment Commitment, adopted the Street Performance Policy and Guidelines, and approved extra activities for the Celebrating 2026 in 2026 programme after an amendment was lost on the casting vote of the Chair.
The committee also appointed eight community members to the Youth Advisory Committee for May 2026 to May 2028. The minutes name the appointees as Tilly B., Sophie R., Buddy R., Meggie C., James G., Edie M., Annie S. and Hayley C. Remaining suitable applicants will be reserve members if any committee member cannot continue.
The Street Performance Policy and Guidelines were adopted without change after the committee rejected an amendment. The meeting also noted the minutes of the Access and Inclusion Advisory Panel and the Arts, Culture and Creativity Advisory Committee.
Council’s AI policy item was also dealt with at the meeting. An amendment to the draft Artificial Intelligence Policy lost on the casting vote of the Chair, and the motion was then carried unanimously to publicly exhibit the draft for 28 days and ask officers to report back afterwards.
Councillors also dealt with a series of remote attendance motions because of medical reasons. The meeting adjourned at 7.12pm after quorum was lost when Crs Lewis, Masselos, Spooner, Merten and Fabiano left, then reconvened at 7.40pm before the remaining business was completed.
