Ku-ring-gai capital works reset puts project priorities under review

Ku-ring-gai Council has approved a reset of its 2026 - 27 capital works program, adding resources to support an expanded infrastructure portfolio funded through the Special Rate Variation uplift.
The unanimous resolution adopts a revised program and a delivery strategy following a review of the council’s capital works portfolio. The revised program is contained in an attachment to the resolution, but individual projects and completion dates were not listed in the available decision.
Councillors will receive a staff briefing by 15 October 2026 on how the delivery strategy was developed. They will also be able to examine delivery priorities and options for accelerating the program.

The Lindfield clubhouse project is separate from the revised capital works program. Council identified an upgrade of the Bannockburn Oval Little Athletics Clubhouse for consideration in a future funding round.
Council also resolved to establish a process for expressions of interest from community groups and associations using council buildings, facilities and amenities. The process is intended to build a pipeline of possible future capital projects with costs of up to $5 million.
The Faster Assessments process is intended to recur every two years from February 2027. Criteria must be established before expressions of interest begin.
