Ku-ring-gai panel approves East Killara subdivision at 56-58 Koola Avenue
A deferred commencement consent has been granted to split one lot into two at 56-58 Koola Avenue, with the Ku-ring-gai Local Planning Panel also approving three other residential applications at its 20 April meeting.
The Ku-ring-gai Local Planning Panel has approved a subdivision at 56-58 Koola Avenue, East Killara, allowing one lot to be divided into two Torrens title lots as a paper subdivision.
At its 20 April meeting, the panel granted deferred commencement development consent for application eDA0548/25, subject to conditions in the Development Assessment Report. The public minutes record the decision as unanimous.
For nearby residents, the approved subdivision affects future lot creation and the development potential of the East Killara site. The panel said two community submissions were received during notification and were considered as part of the determination.
The same meeting also approved three other residential applications across Ku-ring-gai. They were alterations and additions to an existing dwelling at 69 Stanhope Road, Killara, alterations and additions to a dwelling at 71 Athena Avenue, St Ives, and changes to a residential flat building at 1183 Pacific Highway, Turramurra.
The Turramurra approval was for alterations and additions to a building already approved under DA0521/19. The panel granted deferred commencement consent for an additional storey, relocation of the top floor level, three additional apartments, nomination of eight apartments as affordable housing, and associated works. Minutes show ten submissions were received and a speaker addressed the panel against the application.
The Killara proposal at 69 Stanhope Road was also approved as a deferred commencement consent, with the panel satisfied a Clause 4.6 request to vary the maximum height of building development standard had met the relevant requirements. No submissions were received on that application.
At 71 Athena Avenue, St Ives, the panel granted development consent for dwelling alterations and additions after finding a Clause 4.6 request to vary the maximum floor space ratio standard met the required test. One submission was received and considered.
Next, applicants must meet the conditions attached to each approval. For the deferred commencement consents, specified requirements must be satisfied before the approvals become operable. The minutes also state the consents lapse if works are not physically commenced within the stated five-year periods.
