Residents will be able to check Ku-ring-gai Local Planning Panel members’ declared interests for the period from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026 after the panel unanimously directed Ku-ring-gai Council to publish the returns online as soon as practicable.

The returns will be published on Council’s Ku-ring-gai Local Planning page. The panel noted them under Schedule 1 of the Local Planning Panels Model Code of Conduct.

No pecuniary interests or conflicts of interest were declared by panel members or staff at the 17 August 2026 meeting.

The disclosure action was taken during a meeting that also dealt with development applications in Wahroonga, Turramurra and Pymble.

At 1-9 Woniora Avenue, Wahroonga, the panel approved EDA0299/26 for a pergola over the terrace of Unit 119. The approval accepted a request to vary the maximum building-height standard under Clause 4.6 of KLEP 2015 and is subject to conditions in the Development Assessment Report.

The consent will lapse if the approved works do not physically commence within five years of the Notice of Determination. No submissions were received after the application was notified under Council’s Community Participation Plan.

The panel unanimously refused EDA0089/26 for demolition of existing structures and construction of six dwellings at 70 Warrangi Street, Turramurra. Twenty-one submissions were considered.

It also unanimously refused EDA0132/26 for shop-top housing at 1074 Pacific Highway, Pymble, comprising a ground-level neighbourhood shop and co-living housing. Thirty-seven submissions were considered.

The panel rejected the requested variation to the building-height non-discretionary development standard under Section 180(2)(c) of SEPP (Housing) 2021. The proposed development cannot proceed as submitted.

Council is to publish the interest returns as soon as practicable after the 17 August decision, giving residents access to declarations relevant to the panel’s planning work across Ku-ring-gai.
