Liverpool Street backed as preferred alternate site for Hobart’s Farm Gate Market

Hobart City Council has backed a stretch of Liverpool Street in the city centre as its preferred alternate event site for the Sunday Farmers Market, advancing a possible relocation pathway for the Farm Gate Market.

At its 30 March meeting, the council endorsed Liverpool Street between Murray Street and Harrington Street as the preferred alternate site and supported delivery in 2026-27. The decision was recorded in the public minutes of the City of Hobart council meeting.

The change is not yet final. The minutes show the council also approved detailed engagement with nearby property owners and occupiers before a further report comes back to councillors.
