Georges River Council's Local Transport Forum has recommended extending the existing Resident Parking Permit Scheme Area 6 to include Hillcrest Avenue in Hurstville between King Georges Road and Woniora Road, according to minutes from its 29 April meeting.

If adopted, the change would bring that section of Hillcrest Avenue into the current permit parking scheme. The minutes indicate the proposal was considered under an item on a proposed resident parking permit scheme for the street.

The same meeting considered a series of other traffic and parking recommendations across the council area. They included new no stopping and timed parking restrictions at Baumans Road and Meadowland Road in Peakhurst, formalising an existing bus zone in Glenwall Street at Kingsgrove, and extending a bus zone in Trafalgar Street at Peakhurst by 4 metres.

The forum also recommended relocating a bus zone on Junction Road at Beverly Hills, moving a no stopping sign in West Street at Blakehurst 3.4 metres west, installing temporary no parking restrictions on Depot Road at Mortdale from 23 to 26 October 2026 for a waste drop-off event, and converting 6 metres of timed parking on Pitt Street at Mortdale into an accessible parking zone.

During discussion on the Glenwall Street item, U-Go Mobility said several bus stops on the street remained unformalised and raised concern that formalising only one could shift parking issues elsewhere. Council staff said that broader request would be looked into.

The minutes also record that U-Go Mobility plans to communicate closer to June about removing bus stop zones and possibly some related infrastructure at locations that will no longer be used, including around George Street and Forest Road.
