Campbell Hill recreation project wins $2.07 million contract

Campbell Hill’s planned pump track and basketball court have cleared a major funding and procurement hurdle, with Cumberland Council awarding the construction contract for $2,071,715.36 excluding GST.

The contract was awarded to Solutions Plus Built Pty Ltd at the council’s 26 August meeting. The company’s Australian Business Number is 88 101 054 086.

General Manager Peter Fitzgerald was authorised to execute the contract and associated documents.

The project is intended to deliver a recreation upgrade for Campbell Hill. The council resolution does not state when construction will begin, when it will be completed or when the facilities will open.

Councillors accepted the Tender Evaluation Panel’s recommendation under Clause 178(1)(a) of the Local Government (General) Regulation 2021. The item was adopted as part of the council’s group of items resolved by exception, which passed without recorded opposition.

The contract award identifies both the supplier and the project value, but the available decision details do not include construction timing or detailed design specifications.

The same meeting also approved a separate planning step for Wyatt Park in Lidcombe. Mr Fitzgerald was authorised to prepare a concept plan for an outdoor activation and auditorium space, along with a multi-purpose youth and community centre, consistent with the adopted Wyatt Park Masterplan.

That planning work is separate from the Campbell Hill project and is not included in the $2,071,715.36 contract.
