Shoalhaven City Council
Shoalhaven Local Transport Forum - 14/04/2026
The forum reviewed and supported several temporary traffic and road management arrangements for ANZAC Day events, an event traffic plan in North Nowra, and Give Way restrictions for a Culburra Beach development.
Key decisions
- ANZAC Day 2026 road closures reviewed
The forum reviewed proposed temporary road closures for Shoalhaven-wide ANZAC Day 2026 services and marches under the listed Traffic Guidance Schemes and recommended approval by the Director City Services under delegated authority.
Residents can expect temporary road closures for ANZAC Day events across the LGA, with formal approval to proceed through delegated authority. - Public transport access to Bomaderry rail station to be maintained
During discussion of ANZAC Day road closures in Bomaderry, council staff confirmed access to the rail station on Meroo Street will be maintained for public transport commuters, including taxis and buses.
Commuters using Bomaderry rail services should still be able to reach the station during the event road closures. - No objection to Nowra Waterdragons Dragon Boat Regatta traffic plan
The forum had no objection to the proposed 2026 Nowra Waterdragons Dragon Boat Regatta at North Nowra under Traffic Management Plan and Traffic Guidance Schemes D26/68026, D26/68024 and D26/68019, subject to implementation in accordance with 'TS05492 – Traffic Control at Work Sites 20.346'. Approval was recommended under delegated authority.
North Nowra residents and visitors may see temporary traffic controls associated with the regatta, with conditions requiring the approved traffic controls to be followed. - No objection to Give Way restrictions at 189 Prince Edward Avenue, Culburra Beach
The forum had no objection to proposed Give Way restrictions linked to development application DA22/1784 at 189 Prince Edward Avenue, Culburra Beach, under signage plans D26/151553 and D26/151559. The forum also required the centre line marking to be extended to the Give Way hold line. Approval was recommended under delegated authority.
Drivers near the development site in Culburra Beach may see new Give Way signage and line marking changes to improve traffic control.
Important topics
- Milton ANZAC Day road closure processing
TfNSW advised that Road Occupancy Licences for the Princes Highway road closures in Milton had been assessed and processed.
This indicates the state road approvals for Milton ANZAC Day traffic changes were already underway or completed. - Temporary parking restrictions for event traffic management
Council staff clarified that temporary No Stopping signs on Fairway Drive were only for event purposes to stop parking along the road edge, and that an alternative car park near the golf course would remain open.
Event attendees and nearby residents may face temporary parking changes but still have access to alternative parking.
