• Six-month trial for earlier public-place litter collection
  Earlier start times were approved for litter-collection vehicles at specified locations in Beverly Hills, Hurstville and Kingsgrove. Residents must be notified before the trial, feedback options must be provided, and the General Manager may revoke the trial if repeated breaches occur. A review report is to be presented after six months.
  Residents near the affected roads may experience earlier vehicle activity, from 3.00am or 4.00am depending on the location.
• Edward Street and Colvin Avenue safety works
  Speed humps, associated signage and line markings were approved for Edward Street, Carlton. Design-stage consideration will determine the final speed-hump profile and whether fencing or landscaping is needed to guide pedestrians.
  The works are intended to reduce vehicle speeds and improve pedestrian safety, but may affect parking, access and the street layout.
• Kingsway and Maluka Place safety improvements
  A speed hump, signage and line marking were approved for Kingsway, Kingsgrove. Existing Give Way controls on Maluka Place and New England Drive at the Kingsway intersection are to be replaced with STOP controls.
  Drivers will face changed intersection controls and traffic-calming measures. A petition of more than 80 signatures reportedly sought stronger action, including a possible roundabout.
• Hurstville Road, Oatley traffic and pedestrian improvements
  The proposed speed hump, kerb blisters, signage and related road-safety works west of Ada Street were endorsed for detailed design, subject to Traffic Program capital funding. Line markings at Hurstville Road and Judd Street were approved for installation as shown in the report.
  The project may improve pedestrian safety and vehicle speeds, while detailed design will consider heavy-vehicle movements and the existing painted chevron island.
• Park Road corridor roundabout investigation
  The forum noted the Park Road corridor traffic-study outcomes and recommended further investigation of the design and geometric feasibility of a roundabout at Park Road, Wyee Street and Bayview Street. Supplementary right-turn restrictions at Ramsgate Road and Park Road are also to be considered.
  The current intersection was assessed as operating at Level of Service F. A roundabout could improve traffic flow, but funding, design, land and construction feasibility remain unresolved.
• Parkview Avenue parking restriction extension
  No Parking restrictions on the eastern side of Parkview Avenue, Penshurst, were approved for extension by 31 metres.
  The change will reduce legal parking space along part of Parkview Avenue and may affect nearby residents and visitors.
• No Domestic Violence Walk road closure
  A temporary road closure between Kogarah Park and Kogarah Town Square was approved for Friday 20 November 2026, from 10.30am to 1.00pm. Council is to liaise with NSW Police and notify affected stakeholders.
  People travelling through Kogarah during the event should expect temporary traffic disruption and plan alternate routes.

Discussion

• Traffic-study follow-up process
  Traffic engineers are to prepare concept designs for recommended treatments, undertake community consultation, consult bus and taxi operators, and return proposals to the Traffic Committee before construction funding is sought.
  Further public consultation and approvals are required before proposed roundabouts and other treatments can be built.
• Earlier litter-collection operations
  The approved trial brings collection start times forward at multiple roads, including Forest Road, Queens Road, McMahon Street, Woodville Street and Dora Street in Hurstville, and several roads in Beverly Hills and Kingsgrove.
  The trial may reduce daytime service impacts but could increase early-morning noise for nearby households.
