Wanneroo funding policy sets $10,000 business-support threshold
Business Support Fund programs can receive up to $10,000, while larger Industry Development Fund requests will be assessed case by case and remain subject to annual budgets.
Wanneroo businesses and organisations seeking enterprise funding will face clearer thresholds after the City endorsed a revised Enterprise Funding Policy. Business Support Fund funding is available up to $10,000 per program, while Industry Development Fund requests above that amount will be assessed case by case.
The policy covers funding for business support and economic development initiatives. Its stated aims include strengthening local businesses, improving workforce capability, supporting job creation, encouraging investment, supporting industry development and contributing to economic diversification across the City of Wanneroo.
The revisions make minor changes to definitions, funding thresholds and approval requirements. They are intended to improve clarity, streamline approvals and keep the policy consistent with the City’s Sponsorship Policy.
The Business Support Fund definition now includes scholarship opportunities and business support providers. Eligible activities are those that strengthen local businesses, build workforce capability, support job creation or grow the local economy.
The Industry Development Fund is for requests exceeding $10,000 per program, with the funding amount assessed individually. The policy names the Wanneroo Business Association and CORE Innovation Hub as examples of current strategic funding recipients.
The revised policy does not guarantee funding for any business or organisation. Funding remains subject to annual budget allocations and the amendments are intended to be administered within existing approved budgets.
Enterprise funding applications will continue to be assessed through the City’s annual budget process. The revised policy was endorsed by the Policy Review Committee on 31 August 2026.
