City of Vincent records $7.22 million in August payments
Payments included $6.22 million in electronic funds transfers and payroll, plus $993,873.90 in direct debits and credit cards.
The City of Vincent recorded $7,218,337.34 in payments during August, giving ratepayers and local businesses a clear monthly figure for the local government’s expenditure.
The total included $6,224,463.44 in electronic funds transfer payments and payroll, according to the August authorisation of expenditure report.
A further $993,873.90 was recorded through direct debits and credit cards.
The reporting period covered 1 August to 31 August 2026. Council received the payment report alongside the City’s August financial statements and investment report at its 13 October briefing.
The figures show the total amount authorised across those payment categories, but do not identify the largest individual payments, suppliers or contracts behind the overall amount.
Council also received the investment report as at 31 August and the financial statements for the same month. Together, the reports provide the City’s regular monthly view of payments and financial activity.
The payment figures were recorded at a meeting that also dealt with a three-year lease for The Artists’ Foundation of Western Australia Limited, trading as Artsource, at Halvorsen Hall and Lee Hops Cottage, 176 Fitzgerald Street, Perth.
The lease includes a possible two-year option. Rent is set at $4,000 a year plus GST, with an annual CPI review. The City will commence the lease after completing works at Halvorsen Hall, while Lee Hops Cottage must remain substantially in its current condition because it is heritage-listed.
Council also noted Western Power’s revised delivery timeline for underground-power projects 347 North Perth-Mt Lawley and 406 Leederville. The City’s chief executive officer is to provide a further update after the Economic Regulation Authority’s final decision, expected at the end of March 2028.
For residents, suppliers, contractors and financial analysts, the August payment total provides a specific measure of the City’s monthly expenditure. It does not, on its own, show how much was spent on particular services, projects or suppliers.
