Shoalhaven City Council’s Local Transport Forum raised no objection to traffic guidance schemes for Blessing of the Fleet 2026 in Ulladulla at its 11 March email meeting, after Transport for NSW said the event traffic team had reviewed and endorsed the plans and an ROL had been issued.

The forum was asked to consider traffic guidance schemes for the annual event subject to the TMP/TGS being implemented in accordance with TS05492 - Traffic Control at Work Sites 20.346. The recommendation covered plan numbers D26/63899, D26/63900, D26/63902, D26/63896 and D26/63911.

Transport for NSW’s Justin Miles told the forum the TMP and TGS had been reviewed and endorsed. Jake Khourey, the Senior Electorate Officer acting on behalf of Ms Butler, MP, said he had no objections to the Ulladulla event.

Cr Steele also raised no concerns. He supported both proposals, citing the safety benefits of the line marking and the traffic control arrangements for the Blessing of the Fleet event.

The Blessing of the Fleet item was considered alongside a separate line marking proposal for Hastings Parade, Sussex Inlet. That proposal was reviewed and supported by the forum.

The Hastings Pde proposal called for line marking on Hastings Pde, Sussex Inlet, with the forum advising the Chief Executive Officer, acting as Director City Services, that it had reviewed the works. The recommendation was approved under delegated authority from Shoalhaven City Council on 18 March 2026.

The same delegated approval date applied to the Blessing of the Fleet recommendation. The forum advised the Chief Executive Officer, acting as Director City Services, that it had no objection to the proposed traffic guidance schemes for Blessing of the Fleet 2026.

For Ulladulla, the forum’s position clears the way for traffic management around the annual event area, with controls tied to the TMP/TGS conditions set out in the minutes. For Sussex Inlet, the line marking proposal was supported because of its safety benefits and the chance to improve sight lines by moving the stop line further forward.

Mr Justin Miles noted that the event traffic management plans had been reviewed and endorsed by Transport for NSW’s events team, and that an ROL had been issued for the event.

The forum’s recommendations were approved by the Director City Services on 18 March 2026.
