Scenic Rim backs $92,267 in community grants for local groups
Round two minor grants include funding for clubs in Canungra, Boonah and Beaudesert, with council also asking for feedback to unsuccessful applicants.
Scenic Rim Regional Council has endorsed $92,267.10 in recommended funding under round two of its 2025-26 Scenic Rim Community Grants Program minor grants.
The funding backed at the 31 March ordinary meeting includes grants for Canungra Hack and Pony Club Inc, Boonah Community Band, The Beaudesert & District Horse & Pony Club Inc, and Boonah & District Working Horse Association. The public minutes identify those groups among the recommended recipients and record the total recommended funding amount.
For local groups, the grants program provides direct support for community activities and equipment. The minutes do not itemise every grant in the published extract, but they show council endorsed the recommended allocations for the round.
Council also requested that feedback and advice be provided to unsuccessful applicants. That means groups that missed out are due to receive follow-up information after the decision.
The grant item was one of several decisions at the meeting, which also dealt with planning matters, agritourism camping policy work and a proposed funding contribution toward a combined PCYC and indoor sports facility at Dick Westerman Park.
The next step for the grants round is implementation of the approved funding and follow-up advice to unsuccessful applicants, as recorded in the meeting material.
