La Perouse garage rebuild approved, with roof extension and bin enclosure cut back
The Randwick Local Planning Panel has approved a Section 4.56 modification for 27 Endeavour Avenue, allowing the remaining garage structures to be demolished and rebuilt in the same location, subject to revised plans.
A garage at 27 Endeavour Avenue, La Perouse, can be demolished and rebuilt in the same location after the Randwick Local Planning Panel unanimously approved a modification to the existing development consent.
The approval covers DA/197/2022/B, lodged under Section 4.56 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979. It updates the consent to include revised architectural, landscape and supporting documents for the residential property.
The endorsed plans include revised site, floor, roof, elevation and landscape drawings prepared by Pinnacle Design Studio. The documentation includes Section 4.56 plans received by Randwick City Council in May 2025 and August 2026.
The approval comes with changes that must be made before construction can proceed under the modified consent.
The proposed extension of the roof form at the front of the property, including the northern and southern sections of the associated structure, must be deleted from the plans. Amended plans must be submitted to and approved by Council’s Manager of Development Assessment Planning before a construction certificate is issued.
The panel also required the proposed roof and supporting walls over the pedestrian entrance and bin enclosure to be removed. The bin storage area, entry gate and wall running north and south must be reduced to no more than 1.2 metres above ground level.
Further plans must clarify how the proposed planter boxes meet the southern boundary, including any required boundary or retaining walls. The applicant must also provide a landscape plan showing changes to the approved planter around the ground-level deck.
Those plans must be submitted to and approved by Council’s Manager of Development Assessment before an amended construction certificate is issued for the modification. The work must then be carried out in accordance with the amended plans and consent conditions.
The panel said it had considered the site, written submissions and Council officers’ assessment under Section 4.15 of the Act before supporting the application.
