Ku-ring-gai residents, businesses invited to shape destination plan through 2030
Council unanimously endorsed a draft plan covering tourism and destination management across Ku-ring-gai and will now put it on public exhibition for community feedback.
Residents and local businesses will have their first formal chance to comment on Ku-ring-gai’s proposed tourism direction after Council endorsed the draft Ku-ring-gai Destination Management Plan 2026 - 2030 for public exhibition.
Councillors voted unanimously on 20 October to exhibit the plan and seek community feedback. The draft was considered with a Profile and Prospects Paper.
The plan covers the Ku-ring-gai local government area and proposes a direction for destination management from 2026 to 2030. Council has not specified when the exhibition will open, how long it will run or when the plan will return for further consideration.
The exhibition is the next step. Council has not adopted the draft as a final policy.
The plan was endorsed at the same meeting where Council received the audited General and Special Purpose Financial Statements for the year ended 30 June 2026. The statements included the Audit Office of NSW auditor’s report.
Council also endorsed a submission already lodged with the NSW Local Government Grants Commission on proposed changes to the methodology for allocating Financial Assistance Grants to NSW councils. The submission was lodged by the 9 October 2026 deadline, subject to Council’s endorsement.
A separate decision accepted Tenderer A for footpath construction along Eastern Arterial Road between Barra Brui Crescent and Nicholson Avenue, St Ives. The contract value was not included in the supplied decision details.
The destination plan will now be placed on public exhibition. No exhibition dates or final consideration date have been announced.
