Residents had their say on five Ku-ring-gai development decisions
The planning panel considered 61 submissions before refusing three projects, approving a Wahroonga design change and granting deferred commencement consent for a 28-unit St Ives apartment building.
Residents’ submissions were considered in five Ku-ring-gai development decisions on 31 August, including three refusals, a Wahroonga consent modification and approval for a 28-unit apartment building in St Ives.
The Ku-ring-gai Local Planning Panel unanimously refused the application for 8 Rushall Street, Pymble, which proposed demolishing existing structures and building a two-storey dwelling with a basement, swimming pool, cabana, tennis court and associated works. One submission was considered.
At 3-5 Memorial Avenue, St Ives, eight submissions were considered before the panel refused a six-storey residential flat building containing 33 units, basement parking and associated works. The panel amended one refusal reason to refer specifically to the “proposed basement”.
The panel also unanimously refused an application for 97 Babbage Road, Roseville Chase, covering a dwelling house, tree removal, landscaping and stormwater works. Ten submissions were considered.
Eleven submissions were considered on a proposed modification to the existing consent for 13 independent living units at 33B and 35 Clissold Road, Wahroonga. The panel approved internal and external design changes subject to modified conditions, including replacing a reference to drawing Issue R with Issue W in Condition 21(ii).
Community member Ian Arnott left the meeting because of a declared conflict of interest and did not vote on the Wahroonga modification.
The panel unanimously granted deferred commencement consent for a residential flat building containing 28 units, basement parking and associated works at 126 Rosedale Road, St Ives. Thirty-one submissions were considered. The approval requires car parking allocation to follow Table 7 on Plan DA-001 Revision C, to the satisfaction of Council’s Team Leader Development Engineering. It also adds 124 Rosedale Road to an address list and deletes Condition 42.
The refusals apply to the proposals in the form considered. The Wahroonga modification and St Ives approval remain subject to their modified conditions.
