Ipswich council raises Upstallers landscaping contract to $3.05 million
The $1.15 million increase will fund continued retail landscaping services as council reports higher utilisation of Contract 5510.
Ipswich City Council has approved a $1.15 million increase to its retail landscaping contract with Upstallers Pty Ltd, taking estimated expenditure to $3.05 million excluding GST.
The Finance and Governance Committee approved the increase to Contract 5510 on 11 August. Councillor Marnie Doyle moved the recommendation and Deputy Mayor Nicole Jonic seconded it. The motion was put and carried, with no recorded opposing vote.
The report said the higher allocation would accommodate increased utilisation of the contract and support continued service delivery. It did not identify particular retail precincts, individual sites or additional landscaping projects covered by the increase.
Upstallers Pty Ltd will remain the supplier for the retail landscaping work. The committee also delegated authority to the chief executive officer to take the contractual action required to implement the increase.
The contract change was one of several major procurement decisions considered by the committee.
Council awarded the Priority Streetscapes Design and Construct tender for the Ipswich Greening Project to The Landscape Construction Company Pty Ltd. The contract has an approximate value of $3.1 million excluding GST, with the chief executive officer delegated authority to implement it.
The committee also awarded Tender 5893 for Stage 2 of the Springfield Parkway Duplication. The successful supplier and contract amount were contained in confidential material and were not publicly stated in the extract.
Other decisions included awarding Animal Welfare League Queensland an animal management and welfare services contract worth approximately $34 million excluding GST over five years, with a possible further five-year extension at council’s discretion.
The committee also deferred a decision on the proposed operator of Robelle Domain Café 1 after questions were raised in closed session seeking more information about the tender award.
The Upstallers contract is now approved for estimated expenditure of $3.05 million excluding GST, $1.15 million above its original approved value.
