Gladesville masterplan changes backed for public exhibition
Hunter's Hill Council has endorsed updated planning documents for Gladesville Village Centre to go on public exhibition, with the matter to return to councillors after feedback is received.
Hunter's Hill Council has advanced the Gladesville Masterplan to its next stage, backing public exhibition of updated planning documents for the Gladesville Village Centre.
At its 23 February meeting, council noted the updated Gladesville Masterplan Planning Proposal and endorsed draft updates to the Gladesville Village Centre Development Control Plan for exhibition. The adopted resolution also gave the General Manager authority to make minor amendments that do not alter the intent, or changes required to comply with NSW Government directions during the process.
The item drew public addresses at the meeting. Councillors also considered, and rejected, an amendment that would have deferred the planning proposal for further review and additional requirements. The substantive motion was then carried.
For residents and businesses in and around Gladesville, the immediate change is that the proposed planning controls are set to be exhibited publicly, creating a formal chance to review the documents and comment before council makes a further decision on whether to proceed, amend or not proceed.
The minutes state that, after exhibition, both the planning proposal and the draft Development Control Plan updates will come back to council with the outcomes of the public exhibition. At that point, councillors may choose to finalise the planning proposal and adopt the DCP updates as exhibited, proceed with amended documents, or not proceed.
The same meeting also adopted the December 2025 Quarterly Budget Review Statement and endorsed budget variations, approved updates to fees and charges, adopted media and social media policies, and waived about $2,370 in hire fees for a Mamas & Co. Choir fundraising concert at Hunters Hill Town Hall, subject to conditions including a bond, cleaning costs and any after-hours call-out charges.
