Millingandi lot size change backed for 71 Green Point Road
Bega Valley Shire Council has supported a planning proposal for 71 Green Point Road, Millingandi, with the matter now set to go to the state for a Gateway determination before public exhibition.
A planning proposal for 71 Green Point Road, Millingandi has been backed by Bega Valley Shire Council, opening the way for the site’s minimum lot size to be amended through the formal planning process.
At its 25 March meeting, council supported the proposal for Lot 281 DP1048627 and endorsed sending it to the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for a Gateway determination under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, as recorded in the public minutes.
The proposal relates to the minimum lot size applying to the property. For nearby residents and landowners, the matter is relevant because any eventual change could affect future subdivision potential and land use at the site, although no amendment takes effect at this stage.
Council also resolved that, if the proposal receives a Gateway determination, it will be placed on public exhibition. That gives the community a chance to view the planning documents and make submissions before any final decision is made.
The minutes show councillors also authorised the proposal to proceed to finalisation and gazettal without returning to council, but only if Gateway conditions are met, no substantial changes are required and no objections are received during exhibition.
The decision was one of several planning matters dealt with at the same meeting, including support for minor amendments to the Bega Valley Local Environmental Plan 2013 and exhibition of the draft Bega Valley Local Infrastructure Contribution Plan 2026-2041.
