Twyford Hall users face amended charges from 4 November
Bega Valley Shire Council has approved new fees for the complex, with community groups, event operators and local businesses affected when Council takes over management.
Community groups, event operators and local businesses using the Twyford Hall Complex will face amended fees and charges from 4 November 2026, when Bega Valley Shire Council assumes management of the facility.
Council approved the revised charges without opposition from the councillors present. The resolution does not list the individual fees, hire rates or other charges, so users will need to check the amended schedule when arranging activities at the complex.
Cr Helen O’Neil did not vote after declaring a significant non-pecuniary conflict of interest. She said she had previously been a director of the Twyford Hall Complex company and had been involved in discussions about its financial issues. She left before the vote and later returned.
The fee changes form part of the transition to Council management. They will affect organisations and businesses hiring the complex for functions, performances, meetings and other activities, as well as people accessing its facilities.
Council also resolved to write off a $333,000 debt owed by The Twyford Hall Committee Limited. The write-off included a $3,504.40 shop lease preparation fee, a $940 development-application-related inspection fee and $15 in late-payment charges.
Together, those amounts total $337,459.40 in Twyford-related debts and charges. The debt resolution was separate from the fees resolution, which concerns the charges that will apply to users once Council management begins.
The amended fees were approved on 21 October and will take effect on 4 November, the date specified for Council to assume management control of the Twyford Hall Complex.
